We may get grumpier as we grow older but a high
proportion of us remain tolerant enough to holiday with friends. The figure is
close to one in five (18%) holidaymakers over 55, according to the latest
annual Holiday Trends Report published by travel trade organisation ABTA. Sadly
a high proportion also holiday alone - 13% in the 55-64 age category, rising to
21% of those over 65. The research also show a significant number take breaks
with their immediate or extended families, suggesting that in tough times
holidays are another drain on the Bank of Mum and Dad.
