Ryanair close to long haul through fare deals

Low cost airline Ryanair looks to be close to signing deals to offer through flights to long haul destinations. The Irish-based carrier is reported to have reached agreements in principle to feed passenger traffic on to services operated by another budget operator, Norwegian, and Portugal's TAP. The moves herald what is expected to be a new trend as major conventional airlines seek to tap the huge markets that have been cornered by their cheap fare competitors Full details of what's planned are not yet available but the moves could mean and increase in low fare options from the UK. TAP, for example, operates a range of routes to destinations in Latin America and Africa on which the involvement of a budget operator could sharpen competition.
